Newport is home to some pretty famous festivals, including the Seafood & Wine festival, Lincoln county fair and "Coast Jazz Party" These carries over into the visual and performing arts scene, as Newport is the home of Coast Art.  Glass blowing is one of the more popular arts, and you can try it out yourself.  Or, come stay for the annual glass float "Finders Keepers" festival where hundreds are hidden up the road in Lincoln City for treasure hunting.  Just up the river, the Toledo wooden boat festival is a hit where you can make your own kayak in a weekend.
